Ok so the cannon here is just booster at the right, main power in the middle and the "shot" is on the left. The main power is being powered with a repeater on 1 redstone tick, and gets boosted such that it's like this: S# #M where S is the "shot" and M is main power, and # is ladder. In the first pic, the "shot" is on a comparator delay (1 game tick after main power), and the glowstone represents the path of the "shot". In the second pic, the "shot" is on a 2 tick repeater delay (2 gt after main power), and the glowstone somewhat (lazy to make accurate) represents the path of the "shot". So in the third pic, I added a barrel there, and if the y momentum of tnt is all calculated first, you would expect the shot to end up at the same position as in the first picture. But, it still blows up at the same position as before in the 2nd picture. So.... ?

You added a glowstone platform in the 3rd picture. What does it look like without?

The setup in the 2nd and 3rd picture is exactly the same, except that in the 3rd picture I added the 1 wide glowstone platform thingy (which is meant to be something like a barrel). So without the glowstone platform, it's just the 2nd picture. My point is, the tnt being propelled is going higher than the glowstone platform, which shouldn't happen if all of the y momentum is calculated first. This might mean that in each tick, part of the tnt's y momentum is calculated, followed by part of the x/z momentum. (I didn't discover this btw, was watching videos on triangles and an easier method to left shoot)
